Beginner's Pottery Course

This course is perfect for beginners looking to understand the foundational skills of pottery. At the Larva Stage, you’ll learn how to get comfortable with clay and start shaping simple, beautiful pieces with your own hands.

What You'll Learn

  • How to Center the Clay: Get familiar with centering clay on the wheel—your first big milestone!
  • Pottery Tool Kit: You’ll receive a basic pottery toolkit, including tools for throwing, an apron, and 25 kgs of clay to work with.
  • Basics of Pottery: From wedging to preparing your clay, you’ll learn the essentials that every potter needs to know.
  • Shaping and Attaching Handles: Create your very first mugs, learning how to shape and attach handles.
  • Trimming Techniques: Learn to trim your pieces for that perfect, professional finish.
  • Making Mugs and Cups: Dive into techniques for creating mugs and cups, exploring the science behind forming bowls and cylinders.
  • Understanding Pottery Tools: Get hands-on experience with the tools of the trade—knowing what each one does and how to use them effectively.
  • Preparing & Measuring Clay: Understand the process of measuring and preparing clay for different kinds of products.
  • Glazing and Firing Theory: Learn the basics of glazing and firing, essential steps in turning your clay creations into finished pieces.
  • Takeaway Your Creations: Walk away with the mugs and cups you’ve made and a Course Completion Certificate to celebrate your progress!

 

This stage is all about building confidence, learning the basics, and enjoying the process. After these 10 days, you’ll have created your very own mugs and bowls, ready to take on the next challenge in your pottery journey!
