The Calm in Your Hands, The Clarity in Your Mind

Shaping clay isn’t just about creating art—it’s about finding balance. The slow, steady movements, the focus on form, the feel of the earth in your hands—it all quiets the mind and sharpens your senses. Meet the Artist

Hi! This is Apoorva and I’ve been teaching pottery for 8+ years now. My fascination with pottery began during my Diploma in Fine Arts at the Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai from 2010 to 2014. There, I learned the fundamentals of pottery, printmaking, drawing, painting, Indian art, and sculpture. Afterward, from 2014 to 2016, I further specialized at Chitrakala Parishath in Bangalore. In 2016, I took the leap into freelancing as an artist, accepting various commissioned art projects such as designing ceramic murals, working on café interiors, creating wall paintings for a fitness center, illustrating a children’s book series, and more. These experiences allowed me to expand my artistic horizons. Additionally, my time at GBP (Golden Bridge Pottery) in Pondicherry, working with the founders, Mr. Ray Meeker and Miss Deborah Smith, deepened my knowledge of both hand-built and wheel-thrown works, as well as firing techniques, further refining my skills as a ceramic artist.

All of these experiences played a crucial role in my decision to take the plunge and set up my own studio — STUDIO APART!
