Clay & Play: One-on-One Pottery Sessions

If you’re looking for a more personal, hands-on experience, then my Clay & Play sessions are perfect for you! These one-on-one workshops are designed to give you all the attention and guidance you need to really dive into the world of pottery. It’s just you, me, and the magic of clay—ready to shape something amazing together.

What You'll Do

  • Wheel Pottery: Get your hands on the wheel and feel the clay come to life as you shape it into bowls, cups, or whatever your imagination desires.
  • Hand-Pressed Pottery: Prefer a more relaxed, hands-on approach? We’ll create beautiful, unique pieces using hand-pressed techniques, perfect for beginners and creative souls alike.
  • Painting Fired Pieces: Browse through the studio counter and pick out a pre-fired piece to paint and personalize. It’s a fun, creative way to add your own artistic touch to a finished product.

What You'll Learn

  • Understanding Different Clays: Get to know the different types of clay we’ll work with, and which ones are best for different projects.
  • Centering Clay on the Wheel: Master the tricky yet rewarding process of centering your clay on the wheel. By the end, you’ll be making your very own bowl!
  • Exploring Pottery Tools: We’ll dive into a range of pottery tools, teaching you how to use them to shape, cut, and refine your pieces.
  • Designing with Stencils & Cutters: Learn how to add artistic flair to your pottery by designing with stencils and cutter tools to make your pieces truly one-of-a-kind.

Hi! This is Apoorva and I’ve been teaching pottery for 8+ years now. My fascination with pottery began during my Diploma in Fine Arts at the Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai from 2010 to 2014.
